The $300 course that changed everything (my story)

Hey [First Name],
I just finished throwing a 3-day mastermind in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for video business owners.
People came from all over the world: Singapore, London, Amsterdam, Canada, and all across the US.
And it's crazy to see the impact I'm providing to these business owners.
But it wasn't always like that. Let me tell you about my story.
My Dad came to this country from Colombia when he was 18 with not a cent in his pocket. His Dad died when he was 7. He had a very tough childhood and I've seen him work his whole life to provide for my sister and I. Same with my mom.
So I always knew that I wanted to help them and take advantage of the American Dream. To build something for my family and for my last name. Corzo.
And the only way to do that is to leave a legacy. I want to show my future family that you can do anything if you just work hard enough and stay focused.
But when I was 16 I bought my very first course on Dropshipping for $300. I had like $900 in my bank account from saving up over the years.
So I learned how to run ads at a very young age. I made some money in the dropshipping world, but that didn't last too long.
I was making my own ad creatives with my ex girlfriend at the time. I had an old Nikon that I bought on FB marketplace. So I would take pictures of the products I was selling with the camera.
I made $6k in sales in 3 weeks at the age of 16. Which was sooo much money for me at the time. I thought I was so rich. But little did I know that the $6k wasn't profit. I still had to pay for the products, ad spend, etc...
So I have no idea how much I ACTUALLY made haha.
But then I realized that I actually enjoyed making the ad creatives for my ecommerce store. I enjoyed making the videos with my Nikon.
That's when I fell into the world of Jay Alvarez and Sam Kolder. They would make the craziest videos of them traveling the world. So I decided that I wanted to become a videographer and create all of these amazing videos.
So I invested into a gopro and started going to the beach and making these underwater videos, etc...
Little did I know that those videos were nowhere near Sam Kolder's. I wish I still had those videos because they were sooooo bad it was funny.
So I started looking for courses on how to shoot videos and on Black Friday I came across an ad from Parker Walbeck and Full-time Filmmaker. They were having a sale for $500 and they would teach you everything there is to know about shooting videos and turning into a videographer.
I asked my parents if they could buy me that course for Christmas and they couldn't afford the full thing so they gave me half. So I paid $250 and they paid the other half. Which I'm so grateful for looking back.
At the time I remember all of my friends getting all of these presents and posting it on their stories. I had nothing to post because I bought a video course haha.
But that's where everything started.
I started to learn how to shoot videos, I invested into a better camera (Sony a7III).
I started to post these videos on social media because I genuinely loved making videos. And soon enough I started to land clients because I would post on social media.
I was about 20 at this time. So I started to make like $5k/mo just from shooting videos for people. I was shooting everything and anything. Weddings, Real Estate, random music videos, corporate, etc...
Basically anything I could make money from.
And over the years I've learned that I truly love helping businesses grow. Like that was my passion. I did love making videos, but I loved making more of an impact.
And I knew that in order to make an impact for businesses I would need to leverage my skills of running ads + many more.
And I came to that realization because I knew that in order to increase my income and scale my business I had 2 paths:
1). Try to become a crazy cinematographer (which I didn't really want to do and thank gosh I didn't because I see a lot of high-end cinematographers struggling right now)
or
2). Climb the value ladder - which is learning new skills so I can actually help businesses generate more leads & land more clients.
I chose step 2 and it was the best decision I've ever made.
I learned ads, sales, systems, automations, AI, leadership, and more.
There's a lot more I could talk about in my story, but I don't want to make this email crazy long haha.
But here's my advice to whoever is reading this:
Times are changing and you need to change with them
You can't just be good at one thing anymore, you need to offer multiple things
Especially if you're a videographer. Videos are slowly becoming a thing of the past because of AI.
Yes you can still make some money selling videos, but how much?
I'm sure you're feeling the pain of this shift because I know a lot of people are.
The world is changing - businesses are demanding more than ever because they can just pay a random videographer $500 for videos or pay AI $20/mo to make it for them.
So if that's all you're offering, it's time to wake up.
You might not be struggling, but what about 2 years from now? I promise you that you will.
And this isn't some bullshit to scare you, it's the reality. It's what my mentors are telling me.
The question is: are you ready to climb the value ladder like I did?
If you want my help - book a call with me here
Talk soon,
Julian
