Read This If You’re Feeling Lost In Your Business

Running a small business is hard - I’m not going to sugarcoat it.
It takes time, effort, sacrifice, and discipline.
I’m writing this email because if you’re lacking clarity about your future, I want to help guide you.
To help you decide whether entrepreneurship is for you… or if it isn’t.
A lot of videographers and creatives start their business because they’re great at their craft. They think, “If I just keep getting better at videography, the business will grow.”
But the reality is that’s not how it works.
Running a small business is like running a pirate ship.
Think of a ship from Pirates of the Caribbean.
That ship only reaches its destination because every person on board executes their role - the captain, the navigator, the lookout, the rowers, the chef… everyone plays a part.
If the navigator stops paying attention to the ocean, the whole crew has no idea where they’re going.
(And in business, if you’re not paying attention to where the market is going, you’ll have no idea how to pivot, innovate, or stay ahead.)
As a small business owner, you’re doing every one of those jobs yourself and all of them must be done for the ship to move forward.
That’s why systems matter.
That’s why leadership matters.
That’s why understanding the “business side” matters just as much as your skill set.
This is also why having mentors, partners, or team members is so important - you need people who can help guide you, advise you, and push the company forward with you.
If that’s not something you want to do, then it’s going to be very hard to grow your company. And there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that.
In fact, in many cases, you’ll make just as much money working inside a good company - with far less stress instead of being a freelancer living paycheck to paycheck.
But here’s something most people never think about:
Your decisions don’t just affect you.
They affect your family, your future family, your future self, and everyone who will depend on you one day.
So if you’re going to stay in this game - GO ALL IN.
Don’t half-commit. Don’t coast. Don’t play small.
Become the best version of yourself.
Build the best company you can.
And win.
Because here’s the truth:
Working 10-hour days while winning feels a whole lot better than working 10-hour days while losing.
You don’t burn out from hard work - you burn out from lack of progress.
Anyway… that’s my message for today.
I believe in you.
Now it’s time for you to believe in yourself too.
